Udall Honors the Life and Service of Ambassador Richard Holbrooke

Today, Senate Armed Services Committee member Mark Udall paid tribute to Ambassador Richard Holbrooke, the US Special Representative to Afghanistan and Pakistan. Ambassador Holbrooke died on Monday evening after undergoing emergency surgery to repair a torn aorta. Udall made the following statement: “Tonight we lost a tremendous public servant and one of the finest diplomats in American history. Richard Holbrooke served our nation with great distinction for nearly 50 years and earned the deep respect of leaders around the world. I considered him to be a friend and my heart goes out to his family. He will be missed.”
