GOV. RITTER ORDERS FLAGS LOWERED ON PATRIOT DAY

To commemorate the tragedy of Sept. 11, 2001, and in accordance with Congressional Joint Resolution 107-89 approved on December 18, 2001, Gov. Ritter has directed that all flags be flown at half-staff on Patriot Day; Saturday, Sept. 11, 2010, until sundown.

“Sept. 11, 2001, is a day that forever changed the face of this nation and globe,” said Gov. Ritter. “Nine years ago we lost thousands of innocent lives. Jeannie and I ask that Coloradans across the state and elsewhere join us in praying for the victims and their families. We also ask that as you see the flags at half-staff, you remember those in our Armed Forces who are currently serving in foreign theatres, and those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice while protecting the freedoms we hold so dear.”
