RTD Board Elects 2012 Officers

Lee Kemp elected to his unprecedented fifth consecutive term as Board Chair

Denver – The Regional Transportation District (RTD) Board of Directors unanimously elected officers for 2012 at their Board Meeting Tuesday evening. The RTD is governed by a 15-member directly-elected policy Board of Directors. The Board Officers selected for 2012 are the same as last year’s slate of officers.

Chair, Lee Kemp – This will be Director Lee Kemp’s fifth consecutive term as Chair. He becomes the first five consecutive term RTD Board Chair. He represents the residents of eastern Boulder, Broomfield, Adams and parts of Weld Counties. In 2008 he was elected as Chair of the RTD Board of Directors and re-elected again as Chair in 2009, 2010, 2011 and now 2012. He was re-elected to the RTD Board of Directors in November 2008 to serve his second four-year term.

First Vice Chair, John Tayer – Director Tayer represents District O, which includes the majority of Boulder County. He was re-elected in November of 2010 to serve his second four-year term on the RTD Board.

Second Vice Chair, Matt Cohen - Director Cohen represents the residents of in District M, which includes a portion of Jefferson County. He was elected to the RTD Board of Directors to a four-year term in November 2008.

Secretary, Angie Malpiede - Director Malpiede represents District C, which includes a portion of Denver, Adams and eastern Jefferson Counties. She was elected in November 2010 to a four-year term.

Treasurer, Kent Bagley – Director Bagley represents the residents of District H, which includes a portion of Arapahoe and Douglas Counties. He was elected in November 2010 to a four-year term.
