Commerce City Seeking Liquor Licensing Authority Members

COMMERCE CITY – Commerce City is seeking three individuals to serve as alternate board members on the Liquor Licensing Authority. Interested residents must live in the city, be at least 21 years of age and have no financial interest in the operation of a liquor-licensed establishment.

“Serving on municipal boards and commissions is a great way to get more involved in the community,” said City Manager Jerry Flannery. “Not only will you learn more about how the city operates, you’ll have a hand in ensuring we continue to build a Quality Community for a Lifetime.”

The Liquor Licensing Authority has the authority to grant, approve, renew, suspend, revoke or deny liquor licenses and special-event permits. The Authority also conducts investigations and can impose fines or sanctions against a licensee. The Authority is comprised of five-members and four alternates appointed by the City Council, each of whom serve a three-year term.

Meetings are held the first Tuesday of each month at 12:30 p.m. at the Civic Center , 7887 East 60th Avenue. Authority members receive $50 per meeting.
