The city of Brighton now has a presence on Facebook and Twitter. For six months, the city will pilot a main city account and a recreation center youth/teen programs account. Anyone is encouraged to follow the city by visiting www.brightonco.gov and click on the Facebook or Twitter logos.The main city account will provide information about city events, emergencies, meetings, news announcements, traffic alerts, requests for public input, job announcements and much more.
The Brighton Recreation Center Youth and Teen Department account will provide information specific to youth and teen activities provided by the recreation center.
At the end of the six month pilot, city staff will evaluate the success of using Social Media to connect with constituents and determine whether to make revisions.
